Sponsor Spotlight: Pack Your Lunch wih EasyLunchboxes

When living on a budget it is best to make your own meals for school or work. With the Easy Lunchbox system it makes it convenient to do so. Making my husbands lunches becomes a simple task for me just to lay out the containers and add all his food to them for work. My husband really enjoyed using these containers for his lunches. He was very pleased that when he microwaved the containers that they retained their shape and didn't feel wimpy. It quickly became the talk of the break room with everyone asking about the Easy Lunchbox system. At home these containers are great for my toddler's snacks especially when we are on the go. They clean up great in the dishwasher as well.

EasyLunchboxes is a bento-style, 3-compartment container with easy open lids. Although they are not leak proof they are great for carrying a variety of lunches or snacks. The compartments are great for portion control as well. The main compartment is able to hold a sandwich or other entree while the two little compartments are great for snacks. Two EasyLunchboxes also fit into their lunch Bags with room to spare for a drink or icepack. The lunch bags are made of the highest quality 300D Polyester and come in five different colors.

The containers contain no lead, vinyl, PVC, phthalates, or bisphenol A (BPA). The portable lunch containers are safe for dishwasher, freezer, and microwave. The cooler bags can be machine washed.

These containers are great for kids to take to school or on the go. They are great for adults looking to eat portion sized meals. Below is a video with examples of some lunch ideas.

Sponsor Spotlight: EatSmart Precision Pro Kitchen Scale

In today's world portion control is a top priority to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle. The only problem is "What is a portion?" If you have ever looked at the serving size of packaged food it usually tells you in grams or gives you an about this many pieces. I don't want to know "About how much I am eating". I want to know exactly how much a serving is. This measurement is not easy to figure out using your normal kitchen tools. In comes the EatSmart Precision Pro Kitchen Scale to help you easily figure out how much you should be eating.

At first thought I was intimidated by kitchen scales but they are simple to use to figure out your portions. The first step is to turn it on. The scale measures in grams, kilograms, ounces, and pounds.  Choose the measurement you need.  Then place your bowl or plate on top.  You will then hit the Tare button so you do not calculate the weight of your bowl or plate. Next place your food in the bowl just until it reads the right weight for a serving.

If you are unsure of how many calories are in a piece of fruit then all you need to do is take a look at the Calorie Factors Book that comes with the scale. Here you can find almost any type of food that does not come with a nutrition label. The book gives you a simple formula to figure out the calorie count of the food.

This scale can be used to weigh a variety of things including postage. It can weigh up to 11 pounds. The scale is also compact which makes it easy to take with you if needed.

Sponsor Spotlight: Mrs. Renfro's Salsas

What I love most about Mrs. Renfro's Salsas is that you can read the ingredients. The salsas are made with natural ingredients like tomatoes, water, onion, tomato puree, distilled vinegar, brown sugar, corn starch, sweet green peppers, cilantro, jalapeno peppers, salt, garlic and spices. They always tell you if you can't pronounce it then you shouldn't eat it. If you can pronounce it then dig in. I was sent four flavors of Mrs Renfro's salsas to try out including their newest flavor Ghost Pepper Salsa.

Pineapple salsa
This salsa has actual pineapple chunks in it as well as crushed pineapple and pineapple juice. I honestly didn't think I would like this salsa, I'm the type that likes just normal tomato salsa. It has a bit of a tangy taste and even though it is marked as medium heat it really isn't that hot at all. My 1 year old loved the pizza I made with this salsa.

Pomegranate salsa
This salsa has a bit of a sweet flavor with a hint of chipotle. I used this in a wrap with chicken and black beans and it added a little something extra.

Black Bean salsa
This one is like your everyday salsa but with black beans. I really enjoy eating this salsa. The flavor is just right and the black beans make it more filling.

Ghost Pepper salsa
The Ghost Pepper salsa is made from the hottest pepper in the world, with a rating of 1,001,304 Scoville Heat Units which is 300 times hotter than a jalapeno. To give you an idea of how hot this pepper is it has been used for pepper spray, hand grenades, and smoke bombs. The jar comes with its own warning of Scary Hot.

When I first tried this salsa I only took a little taste. I figured for me to give this a fair review I should have a full bite of it. At first the heat doesn't hit you but then slowly builds up in intensity. Your tongue begins to hurt. Your lips will burn. The feeling will last a little more than five minutes and even then your mouth still doesn't feel right. I cant say this is hotter than the actual pepper itself but it is the hottest thing I have ever eaten.

I have included a video of my husband trying this salsa. He does not like Hot foods and his reaction is priceless.

All Mrs. Renfro’s salsas are:
